Above: A bloodied but not beaten Ryan Stockhaus and The Gut are your 2010 fall league champs (L to R Stockhaus, Dan Koen, Rob Phillipo, Jim Donnelly, Playoff MVP Ryan Cain and Ryan Hopkins)
Semi Final 1:
The Gut 79, Blazers 46
The Gut made shots early and often in their defeat of the very short handed Blazers. For the Blazers Josey Saster had 13 and Mike Howe 11 in defeat. The Gut following the lead of Ryan Cain (39 points) and Danny Koen (19 points) cruised into the finals.
Semi Final 2:
Webster's Finest 55, Banner Bar 45
In a game that was pretty much a war, The Banner Bar took 25-19 lead into the half behind the play of Niko Bryan and Andy Maxwell who were doing a very good job of breaking the Webster zone. Webster came out firing in the second half going on a 12-0 run to start the half and never looking back as Raul Santiago (14 points) and Sean Carter (11) lead the way scoring and Jamal Atkins and Akeem Atkins got it done one the glass. Sam Fanfan had 19 in defeat for the Banner and Eve St Cyr added 9.
Finals
The Gut 64, Webster's Finest 48
Webster used their aggressive D and the inside play of Nick Blocksburg (15 points) and the offense of Akeem Atkins (10 points) to stay close early. However there was too much Gut on this night as JIm Donnelly had 18, playoff MVP Ryan Cain added 14 and Ryan Hopkins had 16 mostly from outside. The Gut ends the year with a 8-1 record good for best in the league and avenge their only loss of the year to Webster, special credit to Webster who started the year 0-2 and then ran off 7 straight wins until the finals avenging both of their regular losses (Banner and Big State) in the playoffs.
