Quarterfinal Results!

BVBL Quarterfinals Results 11/4

(6) Blazers 82, (3) Western University Dolphins 76 (OT)
A March Madness like game set the tone for the rest of the night as the Blazers pulled the upset in overtime. Early on it looked like it would be all Western U as Jim Donnelly's passing and Lloyd Kennedy's scoring (16 points) got the Dolphins out to an early 20-6 lead. However The Blazers would not be detered and had it to a 7 point deficit at the half behind Brennan Bennett (24 points). In the second half things would be nip an tuck as Geoff Ashton (12 points) and Joey McCann (22 points) traded inside buckets. The game appeared to be in hand with Western up 8 with 6 to play, when Jay McKinney swung the game. McKinney hit 8 threes on the night on the way to 28 points and burried a 3 with 15 seconds left to tie the game at 71. A Mitch Bajema (18 points) 3 fell away at the buzzer and it was time for overtime. In the OT Bennett was clutch in the paint and at the line as the Blazers held on to advance to semis!
